Round 3 of the Europeans - Agueda, Portugal

May 2019

As it turns out, the best decision Todd has ever made, was to roll round for points this weekend!

Saturday morning Todd was the worst we have ever seen him. He didn’t think he could do it, he didn’t think he could cope with the pain. We expanded his glove and decided he would do 1 lap of free practice, 2 laps of qualifying and see what happened in the races.

That went out the window very quickly, he changed his lever position so he could use his index finger and not his middle finger on the clutch and got on with. Not many can say they had there first European podium the week after cutting the top of the finger off! Anyway, as pleased as we were, Todd was in a lot of discomfort and his finger wasn’t looking good. We drove 22 hours home to get him to and English hospital first thing Tuesday morning. This was now 8 days after the accident, stitches should have been removed 6/7 days after. The English doctor had a look and said it’s not good, so we are now seeing plastic surgeons over the next couple of days.

Todd is now 4th in the championship still but only 6 points off 3rd! So a few more podiums and it’s possible! We are keeping positive through the small set back and focusing on what Todd achieved even with his finger the way it is.
